My almost 8 week old babe, lying next to my big girl on our beautiful Walt blanket sent to us very kindly from @theknitstudio. Joan has one, too. They are exquisite. And locally made! Well, local to me on the Mornington Peninsula. Thank you @theknitstudio. I’m afraid it might be too late to order one in time for Christmas, but you could always gift a picture of the blanket (and have your recipient choose what colour they’d like!) then have it arrive later. I’m a fan of belated presents. They spread out the joy 💛 Ps this hand-holding business is entirely too much for my heart to handle 💔#theknitstudio

Our first time making shortbread, her favourite biscuit (because butter). It worked out rather marvellously, thanks to @felicitycloake & @kabbles. Recipe link in my stories. Now to gift them to her ballet buddies 🎄

Lunch part 1. Quinoa, black beans, silverbeet, roasted sweet potato & roasted turmeric carrots, hemp seeds & toasted pepitas. With extra virgin olive oil & sea salt. Lunch part 2 to be decided. My mother in law is here kindly giving our vegetable garden some attention with Joan as her helper (all the while dressed as a unicorn, mind you) & I’m finishing up some work. Happy Monday to you 💛

Last night, celebrating Ben’s birthday with family. Dad made paella. Joan was his apprentice. There was also @nigellalawson’s chocolate olive oil cake 💛

Really into avocado & sliced radish on toast at the moment (with extra virgin olive oil + sea salt). Also really into the mornings when Walt falls asleep in the carrier & I can eat breakfast with my girl & do her hair in an “Elsa braid”. I haven’t quite mastered the one-handed braid, you see, & Joan seems greatly displeased with my efforts. Bonus points if Walt stays asleep long enough for me to drink my coffee & do some crafting (and by crafting I mean drawing rainbows & cutting out things to glue onto paper. Truly crafty, I am not). Anyway, a lovely Wednesday over here filled with smoothies, dancing, visits with great grandparents & only one car ride meltdown 💛

Baked falafel for Joan & I tonight (recipe on the blog) with tahini yoghurt sauce, roasted sweet potato, silverbeet & leftover corn + tomato salad. Ever grateful for meal prep sessions & my freezer stash of food, helping me get a satisfying meal on the table while juggling a baby who loves to feed non-stop while staring into my eyes (sounds creepy but it’s entirely adorable) plus a toddler I’m trying to keep happy at crazy o’clock. I’ve just grabbed a muesli bar to defrost for Joan as a morning snack along with a serve of beef stew for dinner 👊🏻
